Post Vacation Roundup

Ok, so technically I still have 2 days left in my vacation (today and tomorrow), but I’m at the point where I can post a round-up of how far I’ve managed to get in ths litte “break” from work.
Hedged In: I managed to finish the edit-run, and got 50 pages through the rewrite (so the 45% mark) when I discovered why I had let the editing slack. Those 50 pages are so horrible that I should have recycled the paper long ago. As a result, I basically spent the whole week “practicing” my editing instead of working on new stuff. Not cool.
“Thrown Away” (was Shock Totem Flash Fic) Deadline March 31st: Ran through 2 drafts (draft 1 @ 955 words, draft 2 @ 910) and sent it out. Shortly thereafter, I discovered that I really should have done a third draft. Have a few nasty spots that’ll need some work. The Underground Writers received the first draft to critique, and both Shock Totem Magazine (STM) and the Monday Night Writing Pack received the second draft. As I’m certain my piece won’t be voted to the top at STM, I’ll be able to take the critiques, clean up the piece, and submit it somewhere else. Not the end of the world. Calling the piece at 60% completion at this point.
“Blood and Puppies” Deadline March 13th: Remains at 80%. Still need to do the final rewrite. Maybe I’ll get that done tonight or tomorrow.
Blackfoot Draft 1 Deadline March 31st: 4%. Has remained on hold all week. I’ll be reviewing my outline and the first couple of chapters tonight so I can get it back on track.
Sons of Brightwill (Critique) Deadline March 10th: Not started. Going to get’re done tonight.
Remedy (Critique): Complete. Wondering if I’ll get away with my crit alive.
“So far, this piece is still untitled” (Critique): Complete. This was a walk in the park.
The Last Witch (Critique – Ch. 3) Deadline March 18th: Not started. Going to get’re done tomorrow.
“Mother’s Day” (Critique) Deadline March 18th: Not started. Going to get’re done tomorrow.
I’ll be throwing my progress stuff into the side-bar somehow. Still toying around with the new site to see what I can do. Thinking I could really use a third column. So much for relaxing a bit today.
